Haroon Khalid is the author of four books including ‘Imagining Lahore’ and ‘Walking with Nanak.’ He has also been a travel writer and freelance journalist since 2008, travelling extensively around Pakistan, documenting its historical and cultural heritage.

Haroon Khalid, anthropologist and author of four books, joined the UKPHA Bookclub to talk about his book ‘In search of Shiva: A Study of Folk Religious Practices in Pakistan.’ He led the audience on a journey through the traditions that have their roots in the antiquity of the Indus Valley Civilisation and explored their increasingly fragile place in the modern Islamic Republic.
